What is fusion?
Fusion is a strand by strand extension technique. There are no
wefts or braids, rather individual extension strands that are glued or clamped
to your own hair.

Are there several types of fusion techniques?
Yes, there are several types of fusion techniques. They are as follows:

Pre-Tipped with Fusion Tool:

You use pre-tipped hair with a heated Fusion Tool. Our pre-tipped hair already has the glue on each strand so you would just simply place the glued strand at the base of your hair (close to your scalp) and use the Fusion Tool to melt the glue onto your hair. Some stylists prefer to use the Teflon Fusion Tubes as well as the glue on the I-strands to better adhere the extensions. Be sure to use our Fusion Shield to protect your client's scalp from hot glue!

 Pre-Tipped with Tubes/Pliers:

You use I-strand pre-tipped hair with Fusion Tubes and Fusion Pliers. A Fusion Hook is used to place the tubes at the base of your hair (close to your scalp). You place the I-strand inside the tube and use the pliers to clamp the Copper Fusion Tubes or you can use the Fusion Tool to melt the Teflon Fusion Tubes, securing the extension to your hair.

 Bulk with Glue Sticks:

You use bulk hair (hair with no weft or tip) and Glue Sticks. Take a small group of your hair and a small group of the extension hair. Either use a Fusion Glue Gun or a Fusion Glue Pot to melt the sticks to place a small amount of glue at the tip of the extension. Place the extension tip at the base of your hair (close to your scalp). Be sure to use our Fusion Shield to protect your client's scalp from hot glue!

 Bulk with Tubes/Pliers :

You use bulk hair (hair with no weft or tip) and Fusion Tubes. Take a small group of your hair and a small group of the extension hair. Place both groups of hair inside the Fusion Tubes and use the Fusion Pliers to clamp the Copper Fusion Tubes or you can use the Fusion Tool to melt the Teflon Fusion Tubes, securing the extension and your hair. Please note this method is much easier if you pre-tip the extensions before placing the hair in the tubes.

 Rinex (loop fusion):

For use ONLY with the Rinex Fusion Hair or with our custom Loop Fusion. Place the Rinex loop near the scalp and pull a small group of hair through. Gently pull the grip down so the hair threads through the tube. Once the Rinex strand is in place, use Fusion Pliers to clamp the tube, securing the strand to your hair.

Tubex (loop fusion):  For use ONLY with the Tubex Fusion Hair or with our custom Loop Fusion. Place the Tubex loop near the scalp and pull a small group of hair through. Gently pull the grip down so the hair threads through the tube. Once the Tubex strand is in place, use the Fusion Tool to melt the tube to the hair.

We also offer a Fusion DVD that contains all of the above fusion techniques as well as hair preparation, application, removal and maintenance. Check out our Fusion Hair and Supplies today!

Which fusion technique is best for me?
The fusion technique that will work best for you depends on several factors however if you are more prone to hair breakage, you might consider the non-heat or "cold fusion" techniques.

Who is a good candidate for fusion extensions?
Since fusion is intended to "add" to your own hair, this technique is not intended for clients who do not wish to wear their own hair. If you have very curly hair, you might not be able to wear straight extensions and blend the textures to look natural. This is also the case if you have straight hair but wish to use curly extensions. Fusion is intended to add length, volume, low lights and/or highlights to your own hair.

Can is wash my hair and swim with fusion extensions?
Absolutely!! You can swim and exercise in your fusion extensions as well as wash them. Just be sure that you do not let the oily sweat remain on your scalp for long periods of time or else this can cause the glue to loosen or tubes to slip.

How long does fusion last?
Fusion extensions can last from 2-6 months depending on how fast your hair grows. Even though the glue or tubes may hold much longer, we do not suggest wearing fusion extensions for longer than about 3 months.

How do I remove my fusion extensions?
Fusion extensions can be removed by using a fusion remover or pliers, depending on your application method.
Please be sure to follow the removal instructions carefully as improper
removal can lead to hair breakage.

How do I care for my fusion extensions?
Fusion extensions can be cared for the same way you care for your own hair however excessive heat can damage the extensions and shorten the life of your fusion style. Be sure to deep cleanse and condition hair on a regular basis to prevent oily build-up. In addition, avoid using greasy or oily hair products on your hair prior to doing the fusion technique and while wearing the fusion extensions as this might cause the glue to loosen or the tubes to slip.
